- Marilou Santiago Art Exhibit Reception
February 16, 2019 | 2:00pm - 4:00pm
Ms. Santiago loves to travel and painted what she saw. This collection of her work was donated to the Garcia Center by Marilou and her husband, and is on display for the first time in the United States. The last exhibition before coming to San Bernardino, was held in the Rotunda of the United Nations building in Vienna, Austria. When talking about her art work, she says, “I consider art as an international language. No matter what language you speak or what country you come from, you’re able to communicate with the rest of the world.” The collection, “ Impressions From East to West,” is currently on exhibit in our Gallery. You can see it anytime the Center is open, AND you can come to the reception and meet Artist Marilou Santiago. Photo by okileoinkileon on Flickr.

- Silent Film Series
February 22, 2019 | 7:00pm - 9:00pm
This time starring Buster Keaton. Keaton was an actor, director, screen-writer, stunt performer, producer of silent films, and is known for his “slapstick” humor, done with a deadpan facial expression. In his lifetime, he made 150 films between 1920 -1960s. However, his transition into “talkies” was not as popular as the silent films. You will want to attend this special program to see the genius of Buster Keaton, (and to laugh!)
