Marilou Santiago has traveled to many countries, and has painted what she saw. Originally from the Philippines, she has lived in the United States for over 26 years, and currently lives in San Bernardino.
In addition to being an artist, she is an educator who founded a Montessori School and a School of Ballet. She says, “I consider art an international language. No matter what language you speak, or what country you come from, you’re able to communicate with the rest of the world.”
This collection of her work “Impressions from East to West” was donated to the Garcia Center for the Arts by Marilou and her husband. Marilou had the honor of having her work displayed in the Rotunda of the United Nations building in Vienna, Austria. We are proud to include this fine work in our growing collections that we can exhibit for your enjoyment.
