Our Story
The Garcia Center for the Arts was born out of the San Bernardino Valley Concert Association’s (SBVCA) vision to create a dedicated space for the arts to thrive and build culture in the E Street Corridor. Located in the heart of San Bernardino, close to the historic first McDonald’s museum, the center has become a safe haven for creativity and cultural expression. The SBVCA’s mission is “to sponsor, promote, and sustain the arts” through diverse programming, community events, and collaborative projects. We offer office spaces for art and culture nonprofits, manage a community garden, and provide an art library and makerspace. Our Mercado 536 storefront allows local artists to showcase and sell their work, fostering a thriving artistic community.
Since its inception, The Garcia Center for the Arts has been a beacon of artistic inspiration and community engagement. Our history is rooted in the belief that art has the power to transform lives and bring people together. We are committed to providing a platform for artists of all disciplines to share their talents and enrich the cultural fabric of our region.
